Shorty George was first recorded by the Count Basie Orchestra in 1938, proved to be one of his early big hits, and has become a 'must-have' tune for Basie fans. It is up-tempo swing chart which featured Basie and his three big soloists - Buck Clayton. Trumpet. , Lester Young. Tenor. and Dicky Wells. Trombone. We have written out the original solos for you, though your players can improvise on the chords provided too.
