| Extra Information | The title and subtitle translate (from Finnish) as "Gypsy" and "Hungarian Folk Tunes". The designation "folk tune" is misleading as the melody was in fact composed by the Hungarian Elemer Szentirmay (1836-1908), pseudonym of Janos Nemeth. The same melody was also used in Zigeunerweisen, Op.20 by Sarasate. It was also arranged for male choir by Toivo Kuula. |
