Subject: Re: Duane Allman Song Needed?
Where did you see Leo Kottke live? If I could see just one of his live
shows and/or his video, I could die and go to heaven with a smile.
Anyways, the song you're after is "Little Martha" and is archived from
Nevada. The 'Eat A Peach' version is actually Duane on an open-E tuned
acoustic and Dicky Betts playing back-up chords on a standard tuned
acoustic. I haven't yet been able to hear Leos' version mainly 'cause I
can't yet afford the CD. Try this for "Little Martha":
Little Martha
by: Duane Allman
Playing notes:
This instrumental is played in open E tuning (E B E G# B E).
Rather than tuning the 3rd, 4th and 5th strings up (which can
be really stressful on the neck), you can tune down to open D
(D A D F# A D) and capo at the second fret.
The thumb keeps time with a monotonic bass line while the
fingers play the melody. The structure of the tune is:
1 - Intro
2 - Part 1 ending with [1.]
3 - Repeat Part 1 ending with [2.]
4 - Part 2
5 - Repeat Part 1 up until [To Coda]
6 - Coda
Chords used: numbers in grid indicate frets
numbers in parentheses are suggested fingerings
(1=index,2=middle,etc)

dont ever copy dude, especially when you can't back it up...it looks like a chicken crapped all over this page

The problem with almost all the tabs I've seen of this tune is that they start the melodies of each section on the downbeat, rather than the upbeat of 1. Once it's off, it throws everything else off in the whole tab.
It's not an easy thing to hear or feel correctly, but even those high chords start on OFF-beats, NOT the DOWNBEAT. Does ANYONE have an accurate tab of this anywhere on the web?

Wow, you definitely copied this from the other tab up.
